vroeg sterke weste wind, dysig weer.
ging vroeg na strand om met laag water by het canon te zyn. aan strand komende vond het water even hoog, zodat het in zee moet gestormt hebben. den ganschen voor en agtermiddag bleef het water omtrent dezelfde peil. langs strand zoekende, vond een goed stuk welruikende gele amber. tegen den avond keerde na kok te rug. desen gehelen dag weste sterke wind, dysig weer. in het terugkeren zag weer een grote trop bavianen. sterke tegen desen avond en voornagt uit den westen.
kok had een bosbok geschoten die liet tekenen.

A strong west wind early; hazy weather. Went early to the beach in order to reach the cannon at low tide. Arriving at the beach found the water just as high so that there must have been a storm at sea. The water remained at about the same level the whole fore- and afternoon. Searching along the beach I found a piece of fine-smelling yellow ambergris. Returned to Kok towards evening. A strong western wind this whole day; hazy weather. While returning, again saw a large troop of baboons. A strong wind from the west towards the evening and early part of the night. Kok shot a bushbuck which I then had sketched.
