Thermometer: 46-58-50.
Overcast; a northerly wind, not strong.

Rode with my lad Koerikei first along Bergvlei to Josias Engelbrecht’s, then through sandy, dune country to Mrs Louw at Langevlei, but she was not home. The wagons arrived here late at night because of the heavy road. The receding and advancing angles of the hills in the Bergvlei meet each other exactly as Buffon has related. The same thing occurs at Hout Bay at the Cape.
